Baboons living on the Cape Peninsula in South Africa are under threat. Habitat destruction and fragmentation, ongoing conflicts with humans, aggressive and unsustainable management methods and limited access to dwindling resources. The future of these animals looks bleak. We need to strive for peaceful coexistence and find solutions to help us achieve this goal.
The charismatic African Penguin is a species in freefall as a result of increased fishing pressures and shifts in the distribution of their prey species. Here in Cape Town, we have a number of breeding colonies on our doorstep and should be doing everything in our power to ensure the recovery and survival of this important coastal bird.
